Dr. William Hedden is a plastic surgeon in Birmingham

A graduate of the University of Florida, where he
majored in sculpting and anatomy, he finished his
medical training at the University of South Florida
College of Medicine. Dr. William Hedden's formal
education and hands-on training are second to none. He
completed a research fellowship in general surgery in
1999 at the reputable Louisiana State University and
another in plastic surgery at the University of Alabama
at Birmingham two years later. Dr. William Hedden is

Dr.Michael S. Beckenstein, M.D.
Dr. Michael S. Beckenstein is a board certified and
fully credentialed plastic surgeon who completed
fellowships and residencies around the country. He has
extensive experience in reconstructive and aesthetic
surgery in Birmingham. Dr. Beckenstein was born and
raised in New York. He earned a Bachelor of Science
degree, in Biology, from Union College, in Schenectady,
New York. In 1987, he received his medical degree from
Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk Virginia. He
was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha
medical honor society.
He completed his internship and General surgical
training, in 1992, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in
Livingston, New Jersey where he was awarded the Herbert
Schulte Award for clinical excellence.
Dr. Beckenstein completed a Plastic Surgery residency at
Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He
continued at the University for a six-month Research
Fellowship.
Dr. Beckenstein has dual board certifications and is a
diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and
the American Board of Surgery. He is an active member of
the American Society of Plastic Surgery , and a Fellow
of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member
of the prestigious American Society of Aesthetic Plastic
Surgery, where only thirty percent of plastic surgeons
are admitted. He was named one of America's Top Surgeons
by the Consumer Research Council in 2005 and was named
the Lifesaver Recipient for the 2006 American Cancer
Society's Life Inspiration Award. Dr Beckenstein and
some of his patients have been featured in local and
national media venues including television shows, news,
books and magazines.
Dr. Beckenstein has authored and co-authored several
articles in peer reviewed journals as well as several
textbook chapters on the subjects of breast, aesthetic,
and reconstructive surgery. He currently is working on
several projects. Dr. Beckenstein is developing several
surgical instruments and holds a U.S. patent on a
device.
